Review on Mighty Paw Premium Quality Leather Training Collar: Martingale Style with Stainless Steel Chain Cinch by Josie Stevens

Revainrating 2 out of 5

My dogs have dents on their necks

I had these dents on my two dogs for a month. Initially I was very pleased that 1. they couldn't slip out and 2. they seemed to be of good quality. However after using them on daily walks for the last month I have found that when pulled they don't make much of a difference, the feel and sound of the chain does not deter my dogs any more than a regular martingale collar. I fully understand that collars don't magically train your dog to stop pulling, but it's worth noting as they are advertised to help with this. But nothing special; My big problem with them was that they left dents on my dog's neck. The photos don't do it justice, but her hair is in a perfect circle where the collar sits, is greyish, feels very brittle and smells like plastic or something (cheap leather I guess). They don't even wear their collars at home, only outdoors, so the fact that they've made such a noticeable mark without being worn all the time isn't ideal. I will not put them back on and am sending the collars back. Before that, my dogs wore leather collars and I've never seen anything like that. Super weird and I'm sure I sound like a crazy dog person but this is the first time I'm writing a review because I'm really disappointed in them.
