Rustproof and very durable.

Anyone who claims that their collar is cheaply made and breaks easily must have received a defective collar or want to harm the manufacturer. It's very strong and we're going to do it. I need a strong collar because if my dog sees a cat, it's better to be able to restrain it. Very happy with this collar. No rust even after chasing sticks in the lake for several days.

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks.

High-quality collar for large and strong dogs.

Very high quality collar! The collar is made of thick leather and a chain with strong rivets and a metal buckle. I bought this for my 100lb American Bulldog. She's a good dog and well trained to walk on a loose lead, but this sturdy martingale collar gives me extra reassurance in non-routine situations (like when we happen to be run over by an aggressive off-leash dog).

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Working speed

Very nice leather, best in slip and martingale collars

I come from the equestrian world where I'm a bit of a leather snobby. I LOVE this skin. The oil is soft right out of the box so you don't have to smear it with oil. One difficulty is that I would like the chain to be a little less strong. I have a 12kg dog and it's a bit excessive for him but I know for sure the chain will never break. I also need to drill a few extra holes so I'd like a different size. Otherwise great collar!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Looks great and works!

Great collar! I bought it for my pup to get him used to other collars as the fabric ones annoyed him a lot. It didn't seem to bother him that much and worked great on walks and in class. Great collar if you are building a sling. The leather is very strong, the chain is very strong. It also looks good as I got a lot of compliments on it. If you put it on properly, it won't slide down your dog or come loose, which is great. My puppy was able to grow with it for several months until he outgrew it.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Fits

Great alternative to the collar!

This leather training collar is a great alternative. I admit I was skeptical because the Gentle Leader has always been what we use to most effectively reduce jumper tension during our daily walks. I figured this one probably wouldn't work that well. We were pleasantly surprised! It worked really well and it's so nice to have another option. Also, our dog doesn't like wearing the Gentle Leader and this one doesn't seem to mind. The leather is of the highest quality and the stainless steel chain…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Faulty

Great quality and great control!

We were looking for a leather collar for our GSP but couldn't find one with a martingale. We have been using this collar for about two weeks so far and are very satisfied! The collar itself is made from soft but durable leather in a rich chocolate brown color. We love how the color goes with Greta's brown spots! The martingale chain is also very durable and has already made our walks more enjoyable. We still had tension problems with our other nylon martingale. The chain is the happy medium…

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Legacy model

Cheap stuff on slip and martingale collars

This collar broke the same day we put it on our dog. We eagerly bought this as the reviews were misleading into believing it was a durable thick material. It looks like it fell apart when my dogs were playing around and is now unusable. We bought two, one for my small dog and it is still usable but the ring holder that is supposed to hold the collar broke and is now loose it's only a matter of time before my other dog sees it as a toy , so for the safety of my dogs I'll probably take it off so…

  • Nice

My dogs have dents on their necks

I had these dents on my two dogs for a month. Initially I was very pleased that 1. they couldn't slip out and 2. they seemed to be of good quality. However after using them on daily walks for the last month I have found that when pulled they don't make much of a difference, the feel and sound of the chain does not deter my dogs any more than a regular martingale collar. I fully understand that collars don't magically train your dog to stop pulling, but it's worth noting as they are advertised…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
