Good value for money

First impression was rather positive. I really like the blow molded body, it's not too big. It looks sleek and sharp but is also durable. I didn't pay attention to the layer of oil on the sockets. These are power sockets and they should have a black oxide coating to resist corrosion and rust, so why screw up your customer's hand? I like laser engraving, but engraving the size of each rosette is a big plus (engraving CHROME VANADIUM on each rosette is really not necessary, just make a CR-V). I have compared the engraving of these connectors to port truck connectors and while the port freight connectors are more delicately engraved and look more elegant, the deep engraving cutout on these connectors serves the purpose and looks good. If I compare the nest wall, both are 19mm thick, Artipoly is much thinner. Since the port freight is a 1/2 socket this might not be a good comparison so I checked my chrome socket of the same size. It turns out that the walls are chrome and these sockets are very similar. I was a little apprehensive about this at first, but after reading some articles on the internet I found that many modern power sockets are the same thickness as chrome plated ones. I've only had this set for a few weeks and have only used it a handful of times. Basically to take out nuts and small screws here and there. They worked well with my impact wrench and seem to be holding up great. If you are a pro or someone who uses these tools on a daily basis I would suggest going for a higher performing set, otherwise I think the average handyman will be happy with this given the value you are getting for the price.

Pros
  • Power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • High price
