Small size mattered
I bought this fiber optic media converter to create an ethernet connection between a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) and a ground station controller. Fiber optic solved some of the problems that UTP caused for me. The signals from the 3 cameras and the control connection are transmitted via fiber optic cables. I chose this media converter because it was cheap and had the LC connectors I needed. The small size was also decisive. I removed the case to make it easier to insert the media converter via the mini switch.
- PWR, FX, 1000, LINK LED indicators can dynamically display the feedback link connection status and detect errors to easily monitor the network status; LFP, 9K, Flow Control, 100/1000 DIP switch can support LFP (Link Loss Propagation) function; maximum Ethernet packet size 9000 bytes, supports jumbo frames; Flow control; Fiber Type: MMF, Dual LC.
