Great idea with a few flaws. The LED does not work on any item from the two packages purchased. The slide switch is loose and wobbles regardless of the on or off position. The clip feels solid and has just enough latches to hold it in place when the impact of a collision throws up the car's interior. The bright yellow is clearly visible. Cut some paracord with a "belt cutter" and it worked. I haven't been able to test the pointed "plug" designed to shatter tempered glass, but it seems pretty basic and matches other similar products in materials and design. The pen sits firmly in the plastic frame and at the same time. It is covered with a plastic protector to avoid scratching your hands. I'm not sure how well you can grab the hinge case when it's time to smash the glass, but I have a small hand and it seems to provide enough grip to overcome any closing of the hinge during use . But it's not fixed in a rigid open and closed position. Rigid only depending on hand strength and grip size, covering the two halves just above the center of the hinge.
