Review on πŸ”¨ Masonry Drill for Brick, Concrete Blocks, and Masonry by Michael Caste

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy with drill bit

I ordered a 2 1/2" drill bit to drill some holes in concrete block walls for installing air conditioning refrigerant lines. Considering the price I expected it would probably work but would be slow.. and probably disposable after 2 holes. I also ordered a masonry center drill, thinking it would help start the drill in a more controlled way. I was pleased with the initial progress and then realized what I was actually doing I expected the hollow block to be filled with concrete. The drill didn't seem to mind and I just cut my way through the block, concrete and exterior plasterwork. 1/2" consumer electric drill bit. Most of the concrete block collapsed while drilling, but i got an almost perfect core of concrete filler. I then used a drill to cut another hole in the wall of another block and came across it on the concrete wire in the mortar line again it looks like the drill didn't bother and just cut through the other side. Maybe 8-10 minutes to cut through a hollow block even with wire in the way. Impressive work for a small price. Slightly the same visually except the paint has worn off on the body, the teeth on the cutting face appear to be in perfect order. I'm not sure how long it will last with regular use, but it definitely worked well for my needs. I would order a different size or even a replacement if needed as it saves the time and expense of paying a contractor or hiring a professional drill.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
