Review on Moog K7460 Ball Joint by Jay Ngo

Revainrating 1 out of 5

One was great, the other not so good

Edit: Changed rating to 1 star. Failed after 20,000. Found many, many posts about this in all forums. The Moog brand is no longer the same. I spent a few hundred more on a new set of ball joints than the Moog cost, which are much better made and have a removable raceway and pin so they never have to be pushed out again. Can also be adjusted to eliminate play during wear. DO NOT BUY MOOG. The one I had was great, easy to install and didn't cause any problems. Another for the other side. not as much. With no keyhole on the bottom to prevent turning, these ball joints appear to rest on a nut that sits very lightly on the cone. Well my second one didn't turn easily and the nut got stuck. When removing I destroyed the threads. So I had to go to the local store and buy one for $40 more than I paid for this one because I was in a hurry and didn't have enough money for it. Didn't try to exchange or return it. because I have no idea how to prove it's a bad ball joint. So lesson learned, when installing these particular ball joints, make sure you can manually turn the nut all the way before installing. They fit perfectly and fixed the wobble problem my truck had at higher speeds.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
