I don't think it's 12 dBi.
Wi-Fi antennas don't stay in place against gravity. I got no more use than a 5dBi antenna. I'm not sure if it's really a 12dbi antenna as it's good for connecting to the nearest router nearby. Long range antennas should not be connected to nearby routers due to their frequency range.
