Good for the home gym. Cement Coating

I was working out in the garage the other day and was afraid of dropping (or even gently lowering) the weight directly onto the cement. I bought a 4x7 (or 8, I'm not sure) big enough to encircle my bench and wide enough for the straight bar I have. So far I think it has worked well. I'm more comfortable dropping weight and don't have to worry about the floor or the weight cracking. Although it doesn't look thick, it appears to be quite durable and resilient. In fact, I'm more worried about the weight than the cement.
