Bought for a specific purpose and it works as I hoped it would.

This flat bottom press is advertised to prevent bacon from curling, among other things. As some reviewers have pointed out, the size of this press is too small to cover strips of bacon, so I'm not sure this is the best use for it. However, I bought it for a specific purpose: to press and toast Cuban sandwiches. While I have a good panini press that I use a lot, it has raised grilling sections so it doesn't press the entire sandwich down like it would when pressing a Cuban sandwich. All breads should be pressed down and grilled until crisp. . I used a couple of heavy pans placed on top of a sandwich in a frying pan but they were too unstable. This article solves this problem. It sits perfectly and is easy to squeeze when heated. It may be the only thing I use it for, but since I love Cuban sandwiches and eat them often, it gets used a lot. too far from below. I didn't have these problems; The handle attaches relatively easily and there are no protruding screw heads. Looks very solid and doesn't wobble at all. Other reviewers have cited Rost. Too early for rust as I've only used this twice but I'll wash it to minimize this problem. So far this press is working as I had hoped. And unlike some buyers, the handle didn't get too hot and didn't even need an oven mitt. I'm glad I bought it.
