My large desk is surrounded by sound equipment and there are many heavy things on it. So when the NIC failed (lost network connection to the router), I was faced with the daunting task of destroying this entire system just to get to the case, flip it over, and swap out the NIC. I found this V-Top USB 3.0 network adapter, ordered it and plugged it into a free 3.0 port. Driver installation was automatic (Win7Pro) and that's it, now I have not one but two new ethernet ports as well as a handy pass-through feature. It has worked flawlessly since installing it - it really saved my ass.
