Bought for a new late '16MB Pro which I've had for 2 days now. So far I'm satisfied. a few things to consider. The connector must be securely connected to the computer, which is not always the case. Hear a click and see if the device is solid blue. Sometimes the computer doesn't recognize the USB drive, but on my previous MB Pro it happened when the drive was plugged in directly, so no big deal. The performance and bandwidth of a USB 3 external drive just seems great. The device may get warm, especially when the external device is actively working or working with multiple devices. I had trouble getting the computer to see the ethernet connection after a few connections, but then it just started working and has been tested by my ISP at full speed, which is very fast. Locate the green indicator in the network settings next to USB LAN 100.1000. I turned off Wi-Fi before plugging in the network cable, but I'm not sure if this is necessary. Haven't tested HDMI or SD cards yet, will edit when I do. My concern is the short fixed USB-C cable on the device. The corner can be awkward, especially when stored in a backpack, etc. I'm afraid it will break and will be a weak link. Maybe it would be better if it was a USB-C connector with a short cable.
