Review on MICHELIN X-Ice North 4 205/55 R16 94T winter by Ada Duniewska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Car Kia Sid, size 205/60 R16. Prior to that, 5 winters went (or rather, suffered) on Cordiante Snowmax of the same size. The ABS worked with any attempt to slow down on slippery surfaces, the rumble was like from a Boeing taking off above the car. Spikes left 20 percent (mileage of about 40 thousand km). I drive carefully in the winter. On the ice, starting or stopping was a huge problem, added gray hair. And so I put Mishka on Saturday 11/17/18. It was +8 outside. First impressions - quiet! In a rut, he talks a little, begins to yaw when braking, reluctantly enters turns. A little snow fell tonight, there was an ice roll on the road - and oh, a miracle! - the car drives like on dry asphalt - the ABS has never worked, deceleration is confident, acceleration without slipping. The tires are running in, other road conditions have not yet arisen. I will add a review. First impressions are purely positive - the main thing is not to forget that this is still winter studded tires and drive in accordance with road conditions. Take care of yourself and be careful! 12/11/18 Added. On rolled snow, not bad, but not super, after running it became even quieter. While satisfied! 04/01/19 After the winter season - excellent tires, pulled out of the snowdrifts perfectly, the ice is not bad, but on wet and dry pavement, sometimes abs suddenly works in a harmless situation. The spikes are in place, visual wear of the tread is not noticeable. Drove about 6 thousand km.

Pros
  • + Pleasant rustling of spikes instead of the rumble of a plane taking off. At speeds up to 100, then of course it intensifies, but still much quieter than all the spikes I've tried. + Braking and acceleration on ice. Machine, is that you? Or is the ABS broken? Brakes almost like dry asphalt! Not expected.
Cons
  • - Valkost when braking on dry pavement at temperatures above +4 - Very soft sidewall - the question of how to endure the shortcomings of 2022 roads is open and inspires some concern.
