I used these to restore an old Cannondale RS400 from 1989, the hoods were very moldy and dirty. I just removed the old caps and replaced them with these. Used this video to help me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty0Q9sof0ew As the poster before me said these sleeves work fine for BL-1051 brake levers even though they are for BL-1055. I don't notice much difference between those and the originals. The poster in front of me said they didn't fit very well on the upper arms, but I noticed that if you pull a little tighter on the sides, the top fits really well. As I said, almost identical to the originals. So recommended! PROS: - Cheap (much cheaper than buying "vintage" lens hoods on Ebay) - Good quality from Shimano - Fairly easy to install - Fits BL-1055 and BL-1051. CONS: - Not yet!
