Shimano Exage sport levers fit, but wish they were white.

These are fine if you are trying to replace worn out caps on your old 1980's Shimano Exage Sport brake levers. They have a small empty space at the top of the hood where the arms are square, but that's no big deal. They cost better than any NOS or used vintage hoods on eBay and are fairly easy to install. I just want them to come in white. (That's why I removed the star.) Hey Shimano, make those lens hoods white!

Exage Motion Replacement

This is a good replacement for my Exage Motion brake caps. They don't have a little rubber button that connects to the brake (to hold the hood more securely I think) but the fit is pretty good. The surface is a little sticky but not as bad as the old ones on my 1990 Raleigh Technium. After installing the hoods, I found that by pulling a little more on the lower part that touches the bar tape, the clearance between the brake lever assembly and the new hood became smaller (counterintuitive, I…

They really fit and look really good

It took me forever to buy hood covers for my bike. I have a road bike that I bought in the early 90's and the covers that were on it are long gone. I taped the brakes, taped them, or just left them as is. I upgraded/upgraded my bike, saw them and felt based on the reviews that they would work and lo and behold they work. Pretty hard to put on but I watched some videos on youtube and just got going. I thought they would rip or tear them if they stretched them to put them on, but they didn't…

Works as it should and more, good Shimano quality.

These are good covers and best match vintage Shimano 600 arms on my track without too much fuss. They looked very similar and the levers listed as matching are very close to my 600s. I was willing to take a chance rather than shop online for new old stock hoods and pay $50 for a piece of 25 year old rubber. A few drops of light oil in several places helped them slide easily over my levers. There is an empty space in the top front pointed corner (sorry I don't know that specific lingo) of the…

Good quality. Fits Shimano 105 brake levers BL-1051

I used these to restore an old Cannondale RS400 from 1989, the hoods were very moldy and dirty. I just removed the old caps and replaced them with these. Used this video to help me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty0Q9sof0ew As the poster before me said these sleeves work fine for BL-1051 brake levers even though they are for BL-1055. I don't notice much difference between those and the originals. The poster in front of me said they didn't fit very well on the upper arms, but I noticed that if

Does not fit Shimano BL-Z306 brake levers

I had a hard time selecting a star rating for this review as I didn't want to create bias based on my own issue. These brake lever covers appear to be of good quality which is why I gave them four stars. Unfortunately they didn't fit the Shimano BL-Z306 brake levers on my 1985 Miyata 310 (my fault). I wasn't sure if they would fit my levers when I ordered them, but the shape was similar enough that based on the positive reviews I decided to try them. I ended up making them fit with a few simple

Compatible with original Shimano 105 brake levers BL-1051

I had trouble finding brake caps that are compatible with my original Shimano 105 brake levers model BL-1051. This classic is old but good, but because it's old there isn't much information on compatible replacement pads. I decided to try these hubcaps after reading a comment online somewhere that BL-1055 hubcaps would work with BL-1051 levers. I'm happy to report that the BL-1055 hubcaps work quite well with the BL-1051 levers on my bike. I have uploaded two photos to the customer photo…
