Review on Fill Rite FR1210G Transfer Discharge Suction by Adam Jacobs

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I gave up the second one within a week

This is the second FillRite pump I've installed and it only lasted about a week. The first one I bought (2018) from Revain lasted about 3 fills before the motor burned out. I applied for warranty service, but that's when I needed a pump, so I went to a tractor shop and bought one from stock. Works to this day, knock on wood. So FillRite sent me a new pump which I kept as a spare. Unopened, at my parents house for 3 years. I bought another transfer tank for my truck and decided to install this pump on it. I installed it a week ago, turned it on long enough to see if it actually works, and haven't had to use it until today (6/28/21). I stopped to refill some of the gear and nothing from the pump. I open the hood and the 30A fuse blows. I changed the fuse and still nothing. This concludes my attempt to diagnose the problem at work. Bring it home, open the lid where you make the electrical connection, and a small amount of water will come out. Not perfect, but not overly annoying either. Check the multimeter on the battery and read about 13V. Check the voltage on the pump, it's the same. Now it's time to switch. That is, when about 1 cup of rusty silt and water flowed out of the hull. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the O-ring had cracked during installation. I did not remove this case cover during installation, it was the same as it came from the factory. I know after 3 years there is no guarantee as I had to fight for the first one and this pump was only a few weeks old. Luckily I should be able to replace a switch that got fried myself. But if you buy one of these pumps you can check the seals/add some caulk and hope everything works for you. Or buy another brand. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Not the best
