Great managed switch for home network!

I picked up this switch for my home network, which utilizes five Engenius access points (also using Pfsense for my router). The switch works great for managing the APs. Updates and configuration changes are effortless.I've seen other reviews that complain about lack of documentation, but there are some good YouTube videos that dig into the functionality of the Engenius managed on premise switches. I'm not an IT person, but was able to get my network working with multiple VLANs, access my network via VPN and get great wifi coverage throughout my house and property (multiple buildings and large yard). Ok, enough bragging. if you don't have any networking knowledge there might be a bit of a learning curve, but it's not steep.I highly recommend Engenius products. For their ease of use and reliability (current uptime on my switch is 44 days 9 hrs).Only negative is the fans are a little noisier than I would like.

Pros
  • Works great
Cons
  • The EnGenius EWS5912FP is a relatively expensive Ethernet switch, making it less budget-friendly compared to other options on the market
