Review on πŸ”Œ Enhancing Connectivity with Socket Communications CM7100 510 Wireless Bluetooth by Calvin Hodges

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very useful - modems

Like the other reviewer, I had trouble connecting. You will be given a CD to help you out and I thought it would be pretty easy, just fill in all the usual information and you're done. no I've been trying for about an hour and couldn't figure it out. The next day I did it within 45 minutes (and I think the problem was that I entered the password number dialed on the modem, I think I accidentally pressed something before I entered all the correct #s and it isn't that I can't just try re-entering the password #). A modem is very useful for those like me who don't have WiFi on their PDA (and probably won't use it often) but have a bluetooth enabled PDA and want to have a fixed dial-up connection available. I got this so that my roommate could sit at the computer for hours and play computer games and still surf the Internet himself with his PDA. The only thing I see as a problem is that sometimes it won't connect and waits 20 minutes or turns the modem off for a minute and then turns it back on usually fixes that. Since the (Bluetooth) modem works with an HF signal (high frequency?), it can cause interference with other HF signal electronics in the vicinity.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Long
