I've had one of these for years and apart from a single tear that hasn't affected it, this fruit slice is so near perfect that I've ordered a second one so I can keep the first one with me forever my camping gear. For those wondering, the cutting portion is 4.25 inches in diameter and can accommodate a slightly smaller apple. For safety and ease of slicing, I recommend placing the apple stem-side down on a cutting board. Even asymmetrical apples are cut cleanly in this position! So why only four stars? Well, plastic tends to wear out over time (hence the cracks) and the slicer, while larger than others I've seen, doesn't hold the incredibly large, crunchy apples my local greengrocer brings once a season. Regular honey apples work fine, so I'll have to be happy with that!
