Please don't buy this for your snake! To be honest I thought I might save some money buying this instead of something nicer but I really regret it. I have used this with a heat mat and it is. So much is wrong with him that I can't even explain it. But the most important thing is this. Last night my snake's temperature was set at 88 degrees. The thermostat read 90. OK, I think everything is fine. except I checked with my temperature gun that the heat mat had gone up to 110 degrees! Good thing my snake had a brain. Move to the cool side of the tank! It could hurt him badly! I thought maybe it's my fault and I have to mount it very low because it's a glass case? I just tried setting it to 85. It dropped to 83.5, which isn't as warm as I'd like. But there was no sign of warming. So I set it to 86 and this thing got 88.7! I had to fucking turn it off because I just saw the numbers skyrocket non-stop at the speed of light! With? This thermostat is REALLY DANGEROUS and I will throw it away as soon as I get my Herpstat in the mail. My snake's life depends on the right temperature, so I don't know why I decided to entrust her with something that costs $19. Just shows you get what you pay for!
