I made some 10 watt LED downlights to replace the fluorescent lights in my trailer. Much more light at half the current. This dimmer works great and offers a smooth, flicker-free transition from full brightness to the lowest dimming level. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the build quality is good. For those wondering, the high side means that the voltage/current is controlled on the positive line. The low side means the voltage/current is controlled by changing the return to earth from the earth wire. After testing, I believe the dimmer uses pulse width modulation (PWM) for dimming, which is the most energy efficient way. The measured power consumption of an LED decreases with increasing darkness. There is virtually no additional current draw or resistance from the dimmer itself. I'm buying another to use for the external LED on my trailer. Good product.
