I have 2 separate areas to test: first the functionality, then the usability of the thermostat. I used a thermostat in a sterile bath with a floor mounted heating mat under a 28 liter tank with a young wart snake. I have 2 temp readers; an infrared temp gun purchased from Amazon and a high temp laser/small temp probe reader, both usually read within a degree of each other and appear to be fairly accurate. The Inkbird seems to have a quality probe that's easy to install, but it would be nice if it wasn't permanently attached so it could be routed through a small diameter hole or replaced if it fails. +/- seems to stay within the advertised 1 degree, which isn't that easy with an on/off thermostat. I trust this thermostat and it works very well with both racks and individual pens, the boar was a newly acquired animal and is doing great, eating great and happy with his surroundings. My only suggestion would be to make a similar unit that is proportional. As for the usability of this device, it could use a little improvement. especially on WiFi. Setting the night reset mode and setting a different time is a bit tricky, as is turning on Wi-Fi mode. I think this is a useful and good quality thermostat that is way better than anything else in the price range. I especially appreciate the night reset feature and I hope Inkbird develops a 2 or 4 sensor version with night reset.
