to the nearest degree. I found it difficult to align the dial and it was impossible to rotate 90 degrees twice and hit almost the same spot. I've been a surveyor for 16 years and manage an H&I transport, so I know how to read a vernier. I suspect using it as a level or for laying a straight line might be fine, but for flipping curves even for a short distance the left side is much better. I'll review the literature and see if there is a horizontal motion fit. If successful, I will update this review.
