Poor design of the measuring and marking tools

Definitely not worth the money. This product is like a $10 microscope that you would buy your kids for Christmas. The spirit level is dangling on the turntable and just doesn't make me feel like the spirit level is giving me an accurate reading.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Basically okay, but...

to the nearest degree. I found it difficult to align the dial and it was impossible to rotate 90 degrees twice and hit almost the same spot. I've been a surveyor for 16 years and manage an H&I transport, so I know how to read a vernier. I suspect using it as a level or for laying a straight line might be fine, but for flipping curves even for a short distance the left side is much better. I'll review the literature and see if there is a horizontal motion fit. If successful, I will update this…

piss off! - Levels

Very disappointed with the build quality. My father bought the exact same instrument 20 years ago. It's the same brand with the same features, but everything is made even tougher. It still works great but I don't expect it to last 20 years if used in the same way. Just shows how quality suffers under China! It used to have 4 leveling screws and two spirit levels. It's much harder and takes longer to get a transit level with 3 bolts and one level! The tripod is easier to use with cam locks than…

Great Price

All moving parts run smoothly with no play. The optics are clear, the focus is good. Good enough for everyday use by landowners and builders. Contractors, of course, will want something better, and surveyors will want something better. This tool is unique, although it bears a superficial resemblance to a lesser-known brand. Compare this to the David White Transit in this price range sold under many other brand names. This leads me to believe that the manufacturer has some control over design…

Lots of freeplay and slop.

2015 - As others have said it came with a tripod and 13ft measuring rod, neither of which were described in the shipping details so I didn't know if they came with it. , at such a low price. Maybe it was a mistake, but we got a lot. Everything looks very hard. Updated 08/12/19. My fault is that I bought it when I didn't need it and now my three year warranty has expired. I've finally started using it, but the possibilities in the scope of application are endless. You can't hold the spirit level

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No Assault Rifle
