THEY WORK WITH PRACTICALLY ANY WAX AND ANY SIZE! I've been making candles since 1969, the wicks are very good. If you are making a very thick candle you can gently twist 2 or 3 of them together. For short candles cut the wicks shorter, for other short candles use the cut ends. I used and cast them with the stickers that came with them. Have also used them with a chilled fill, then either drilled or pushed a hole, cut off the metal base, put in a wick, then either poured to close the hole or used drilled wax and sealed it. Unless you're using some pretty esoteric materials or shapes, they work. In fact, I can't think of a situation where they wouldn't work. No smoke, odor or anything like that from the wicks themselves. GOOD PRODUCT!
