For better or for worse, XZN fasteners are part of German car life. I was on the border between two options for tools to deal with this. One of them was this set; another bought a much cheaper kit and then bought a separate security bit for my Passat's transmission drain plug for about an extra $15. In the end, I'm glad I went for the more complete set for a few bucks more. First of all, the bushings appear to be of good workmanship and hardness, although I have to say that so far I have only used them on non-critical fasteners that have not rusted. Second, the 3 largest bits in this set are triple square plug compatible, so I'm a bit future proof (there's an extra 18mm security socket compared to the cheaper VIM set). Third, I was really surprised at how much I liked the mounting stick (sold separately for about $14) that the kit comes with. It's beautifully anodized aluminum with built in magnets and pins to hold everything together. As it turns out, the set is secure, fits easily in my toolbox, and doesn't take up too much space.
