Review on πŸ“¦ Premium Envelope Style Trunk Cargo Net for Mazda 6 Mazda6 2014-2019 - Reliable and Durable Solution for Organized Cargo Management by Nikith Brewster

I like the trunk grille installed but am having trouble drilling the necessary holes.

I have a 2017.5 Mazda 6 and bought this boot net in December 2018. The kit has everything I need and the instructions are for a Mazda 6 and were surprisingly good. The instructions take you step-by-step through the removal of the necessary parts inside the trunk, culminating in a black plastic paneling inside the trunk under the trunk edge. This plastic part has latches with push pins that secure it to the trunk wall. In the kit, pressure pins are replaced by nuts and T-anchors. The luggage compartment net is attached to the T-anchors. Here's the only problem I've had with the kit, and it's a big one. The kit instructions state that you can use a 7/16" bit to enlarge the four holes for the included nuts. The 7/16 inch drill is quite large and long, especially considering the length of the drill. The top left gap is about 7 inches, and the drill and drill bit size was closer to 12 inches. Not even close, not even oblique. Even if I had a right angle drill, I think the gap would be too small if I didn't cut the drill. I ended up using a dremel and a metal grinder to slowly enlarge the top two holes. It worked well and quickly. Maybe 2 minutes per hole. Please note: Don't go too fast, if you make the hole too big, the nuts won't fit and the old pins won't work anymore. You will really be in the creek if you make it too big. Just take your time and grind a little, then taste the well nut until it fits. The holes weren't as round as the drill bit, so I smeared them with some epoxy. 4 nuts for extra holding power. I suspect the side turn would be sufficient without the epoxy. After allowing the epoxy to dry for a few hours, I reassembled the trunk and installed the trunk net. I am very satisfied with the installed product. It is high quality and the installation looks completely factory. The width is perfect, leaving it fairly erudite but not overly erudite. We've got a factory-net Honda Accord and a factory-net Nissan Maxima and it's at least as good or better than them at a surprisingly low price. I would buy again and would recommend if you like the custom mother hole drilling method.
