After driving about 100 miles after refueling about 50% of the time my car's dashboard lights up red, yellow, green and the icons on the LCD display are flashing. I suspected something about the gas cap as the lights flashed once when the cap was not screwed on tight. I've tried to look for any visible scratches or dents on both the original rubber gasket and the metal edge it sits on - nothing. I've also tried manually cleaning both - still have a light show on the dash. So I bought this replacement pillow. I took a small screwdriver to pry off the old one and put in the new one. All in all it took maybe 30 seconds. The new one is noticeably thicker than the original, which changes how far you have to turn the cap when tightening. In addition, the lid is now much more difficult to unscrew. I think I still have to learn to find the right balance between how tight to tighten and how hard to loosen. So far I am completely satisfied.
