Give it a try - what have you got to lose.

I'm a real mechanic who gets angry every time someone flashes the 'Check Engine' light and everyone tells him to replace the gas cap no matter the code Has. Guess that was actually a problem in our 2010 Outback. Reading Codes - The downstream oxygen sensor reading is incorrect. Cleared codes replaced the gas cap gasket on this product and the shock codes did not come back. Time will tell, but so far satisfied for a few months.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are new competitors

worked for me! - Caps

I have a 2014 Subaru Outback, mileage 180000+, the Check Engine light came on with the cruise control and brake indicators flashing. I just got my gas mask in the morning and thought the cap might not fit properly. Tried putting the lid back on. Without change. I ordered a replacement ring and it arrived the next day. Easy installation (maybe a minute) and the car drove with all warning lights. Fifteen minutes later they all passed out. Not bad for an $8 fix.

Can't say for sure - Cap

When I ordered it I thought it was a regular gas cap with gasket. Considering the cost, I was surprised I only got one pad. I ended up not using it and bought a genuine replacement gas cap elsewhere. I decided not to return the seal. For the price of the pad alone it could work but I think it was overpriced and the picture on the Revain was a bit misleading. My ratings aren't really based on the actual quality of the seal but on everything else mentioned above.

CEL is currently disabled for parts

The 2013 Outback had a CEL code P0453. Took the car to the dealer but found nothing. The lights went out, but CEL came back after refueling the car. So I searched for Revain and found this. Replaced the existing gasket with an RKX gasket, after which it went through about five cycles of turning the ignition on and off. Eventually, CEL disappeared. The RKX seal feels a bit softer than the OEM. The RKX gasket allows you to overtighten the gas cap, so use caution. Only time will tell how long this

Fixed evaporation of fuel in the gas cap

I confess - I did not read the description and thought I ordered the entire gas cap. My Subaru had the check engine light on (with a slow blinking cruise control light) and my garage was filled with fuel fumes every morning, so I figured I'd start with the cheapest fix. The garage is no longer full of exhaust fumes. The old gasket looked fine when I replaced it, but the new gasket definitely made a difference. The seal change could easily be done by hand, no tools were required. My check engine

Affordable, but most importantly, it solved all the check engine lightbulbs.

could have been selected with engine, brake and traction indicator lights on dash. I've done a lot of research online and the common cause of all the scary warning lights is the gas cap not closing properly. I doubted it, but for a few bucks I decided to give it a try. What do you know. He completely extinguished all the signal lights and after two months they did not appear. To clarify, I cleared all the codes after replacing the gas cap gasket, but they should clear on their own unless you've

Seems to be working fine.

After driving about 100 miles after refueling about 50% of the time my car's dashboard lights up red, yellow, green and the icons on the LCD display are flashing. I suspected something about the gas cap as the lights flashed once when the cap was not screwed on tight. I've tried to look for any visible scratches or dents on both the original rubber gasket and the metal edge it sits on - nothing. I've also tried manually cleaning both - still have a light show on the dash. So I bought this…

Pros
  • Consistent test results

  • Clearly bad product
