Review on Gates TCKWP199BH PowerGrip Premium Timing Belt Component Kit with Water Pump: Optimal Performance and Durability for Your Vehicle by Doug Hawkins

I bought this for my 1997 Camry LE with a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine in March 2016. Installed a week after receipt. In July 2018 the water pump failed and started squirting out of the drain hole while my pregnant wife (8.5 months old) was trying to make her own dinner on the way home from work. I work nights so luckily I had a friend who could help take her home. Needless to say, I am very angry about this. Now (in 2 years) I have to buy another water pump and do all the work again, on my porch, in JULY, south, smashing a 98 deg / heat index 110+ in the face with humidity. This is NOT the usual quality you get from Gates. That's some kind of valuable nonsense you can get in the zone. Very disappointed. The only reason for 2 stars is that the timing belt components are fine.
