The teapot is visually appealing. I like that the whistle pops up and stays but doesn't whistle. There is a very faint "pffff" sound that is barely audible in the same room and definitely not heard from the next room, defeating the purpose of the "whistling" kettle. I will not pay for shipping back to Revain but I will be taking my complaint about the whistle to Gibson as I bought a whistle kettle and it definitely does NOT whistle. I don't particularly like the plastic lid screwed onto a piece of metal. I think water can collect in it and become a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. durable metal cover. So I gave it two stars for looks, and it heats up pretty quickly but with a cheap plastic lid and no whistle. The seller asked if I would accept a partial refund and I said how that would help. So I really decided to contact Revain and return this kettle. Went to Ross and bought a pot that heats water and makes a pipe for $8.99. It will heat the water and whistle until it stops and then I'll buy something else. Looks really good on my stove.
