Review on 🚚 EBC Brakes DP61655 6000 Series Greenstuff Truck and SUV Brake Pad: Superior Performance for Trucks and SUVs by Julius Robinson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Has its ups and downs.

Bought these brake pads for my 2005 Honda CRV (RD5) front and rear. I have used several aftermarket brands as well as OEM Honda brake pads in most cases. These pads were intended to replace the currently available Honda pads, which were audible enough to be heard from a considerable distance. To put it bluntly, these pads have insane traction, which means the pads will dig into your brake drums and actually hold your car. Once you put them on you won't get their incredible stopping power. You'll have to drive them a few hundred miles to brake or lock them up properly, so they'll be a little spongy at first, so it's important to be careful during this time. Avoid hard braking, instead brake slowly from a distance. Once the brakes are in place you won't be disappointed as grip and grip are phenomenal. There are two issues however, the first is that the amount of brake dust is as insane as it gets, my entire rim was covered in black brake dust after riding which practically soiled the rim until it could be washed off. This in itself was a task as after a while it became quite caked up and didn't want to wash off easily. Otherwise, a strong degreaser was enough. The second issue, and probably my biggest issue, was lifespan. It was too short. It probably lasted less than a quarter of the time the original OEM pad lasted. I usually drive my CRV a little faster so I didn't list the mileage how long it lasted but compared to an OEM pad that took the same abuse, again this pad lasted less than a quarter of the same time. A great pad for effective braking but lacks in durability. Based on that, it may or may not suit your needs, so ultimately it's up to you to decide if you prefer performance over anything or durability.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Basically ok but...
