Cover OEM but may NOT be needed. When my friend's "Check Engine" light came on on a Porsche Cayman S, I advised him to go to his local auto parts store to have an OBD II code read. He bought a Stant brand aftermarket hat and the light went out. I bought this OEM cover for it and the "Check Engine" light came on again. So I told him to take the gasket off the stant cover and put it on top of the OEM cover. The check engine light is off. I've had Japanese and American made cars that are 10-15 years old. I've never changed a gas cap before. A seal replacement might have been all that was required.
