Once you lift the lid it's a safety hazard
There is a hinged lid on the top of the lighter. As it rises, gas will begin to come out of the jet, waiting for you to hit the flint to ignite. If you don't hit the flint and close the lid, I assume the gas will be released until the tank is empty. Not the best design, but workable if you pay attention to this issue.
