Review on Heininger Hitchmate TireStep 4040, Black – 1 Pack by Jeff Callier

I bought this for an extended 2017 Ram 3500 platform with two aluminum wheels to free up the fifth wheel and fill the extra fuel tank. There are 2 tire width settings and the Ram 3500 uses the narrow setting twice. There are no problems with the gap between the dual tires. There are 3 height settings. I used a medium setting that placed the step about 3 inches above the center of the bar and allowed me to easily reach the clutch handle in bed. A 3500 wide front hub cap just clears the step in the middle position, but not the front hub in the lowest position. This means that the step can be used on both the front and rear wheel. The storage bag is perfect for hiking. I weigh about 225 pounds and the step is very strong. This is a simple and well made product that does exactly what it was designed to do. This should also apply to Ford and Chevy two wheelers as they use the same tire size and the extended front hubcap.
