We have no experience with avocados, but we eat them occasionally. This tool made it easy to remove a hole that in the past we simply had to trim. The edge of the cutting tool is beveled so you can work between the skin and the inside of the avocado to remove the part you want with some residue left on the skin. Use the medium slicing attachment (which attaches or detaches to the outside of the tool) to slice the avocado into chunks as well as you remove the skin. This tool is faster, easier and less confusing than what we've done before. We also had family members who are experts at opening avocados. They approved the tool but don't plan to buy it as they already have a simple knife based system to get the job done. I'm not sure how this tool compares to similar tools as none of us have used anything like this before.
