Review on AMP Research 74814-01A Black BedXTender HD Max Pickup Truck Bed Extender by James Cowan

Overall cool product. Especially if you decide to use quick releases. Turns my 8" bed into a 9 1/2" bed. The only thing I don't like about it (I honestly drive through the junkyard a lot when overloading my truck) is that the plastic pieces holding the metal frame together have about 6 screws (2 for each frame). I don't know when it happened, I never heard any popping while driving or anything like that. Eventually something hit him and several bolts broke through the plastic thread. Now the two plastic parts have a gap of a few millimeters. Why would a manufacturer make something for a work truck and not reinforce the threads with metal as it really is? That would never have been a problem if properly amplified. You can definitely twist it by drilling through both pieces, using a longer bolt, and putting a nut on the other side. But then you have an exposed nut and it doesn't look that good. If it was under $100 I wouldn't complain but for the price it should have been beefed up.
