Review on Dorman 924 834 Center Console Repair by Young Toulson

This item is just what I needed to fix the broken center console cover on my 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. The all-metal construction will last much longer than the OEM plastic part it replaces. Once installed, my center armrest is much sturdier and ready to lean back on. I want to mention this when pulling out the old block. , there is an axis on which the old one rotates. I had to cut it out before I could detach the old broken piece from the hinge base. I've attached a photo of how I carved it with a Dremel tool. Also, my original armrest was missing when I bought this used truck. So I bought a cheap armrest replacement from another site for $15. It's not quite right, but it's definitely better than spending another $100 for a perfect fit on a 16-year-old truck. Overall, this all-metal block is a great buy. It fit perfectly and the included hardware worked perfectly for me.
