Initially cheaper was much more expensive

pump received quickly, that was the only plus of this experience. I installed the pump on my '99 Silverado K3500 7.4L 454. After wrestling with the fuel tank for 2 hours I hoped my fuel supply problems would be over. There is no such happiness. Initial fuel pressure was 45 psi with the ignition on, 48-50 psi at idle, 50 psi at WOT. The truck requires 58-62 psi. Even though I knew the fuel pressure was wrong it seemed like it could work and I had to take a truck to deliver to the post office 46 miles away so I could get parts to fix my other truck. On the way back, the pump stopped completely. The engine stalls, there is no pressure in the fuel rail. There happened to be a car zone 3 miles away, and while it didn't sound like my idea of a good time, I went camping, paid $150 for a new pump with a lifetime warranty, and came back. A friend who owed me a favor took the jack and I spent the next 3 hours changing the pump at the curb. After twice spending money on a pump, 5 hours of work, going through a service and paying a chiropractor to get my back back in shape after working in a lopsided roadside position under a truck, I decided to get one Buying cheap pump online was definitely not the best choice. I cannot recommend this pump. I recommend that you shop for the best price by all means, but only for a quality brand, either OEM or a known equivalent. Even if it costs a little more than the cheapest option (like this one), you might be able to save yourself the heartache. And in my view, that in itself would be priceless.
