Review on 🚚 AMP Research 74811-00A Silver HD Max Truck Bed Extender for Nissan Frontier 1998-2017, Toyota Tundra 2000-2006, and Tacoma 2005-2020 (Requires 74601-01A for installation), Standard Bed by Mac Sterling

I bought this for 2016 Toyota Tacoma and it initially fitted perfectly. They should allow for some adjustment if you put in a factory bed pad, but that only raises the hardware about 1/2 inch or so. I have used this on my 5ft short bed to raise it to 6.5ft which allows me to easily carry plywood, 8ft lumber and other items that may not fit in the back as well. However, I made one change to this product, which was to throw away the original mounting hardware. A "release” available on the AMP that allows you to pull a lever toward you on each side for easier release when the factory tonneau cover is down or your long load is in the way. This is very practical and makes handling the bed extension much easier. I recommend locking the back door whenever you have it on you as it is very light and easy to steal. When the tailgate is locked, you cannot reach the opening levers as they rest against the tailgate when closed, so they cannot be used for theft. The only "point of complaint" I The scope of delivery includes belts that are attached to the tailgate lock. They are made of plastic and fastened in the middle with a hexagon socket screw. Mine are already loose, but to be honest I don't use them much. Most of the weights I carry have a ratchet on them, which keeps things from bouncing around. All in all a very durable product. PS DO NOT use power tools when assembling sticks and plastic parts. Without thinking, I unscrewed one screw, and then with a slight push. After that, I immediately switched to a screwdriver and had no trouble loosening the screws.
