The remote control is HUGE. If you want to use on the go, this is literally the size of a '90s cellphone (okay, it's a little smaller than those). Telephones in the early 2000s. ;) I liked it, it had many settings and it could reach up to 300 yards. The remote control is so big that it was completely impractical. Aside from the size of the remote control, the collar did not fit my dog. My dog is a Husky, Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, and Chihuahua mix. Very athletic and intelligent dog. 15 months. I control them with my voice since I took them at 2.5 months. She got very naughty on walks and was too hyper-jumping to say hello to people, tried to chase after dogs on walks etc. One day she threw me on concrete so she eventually succumbed to trying to use a shock collar as a dog. A friend at the park mentioned that his dog was better with him. I'm not sure if the static shocker is really accurate. The vibrator feels like a massage on her neck. I actually shocked myself with a few static shock settings. It was painful. But given the neck placement and if you don't want to choke your dog for it to work. It is not so. She was only done with part of the upheaval until it stopped. Never worked for me. I gave him a good 4 days - twice a day. Dog park, walks etc. Poster mentioning to get rid of the loud sound or the fact that you turn the sound on. I agree it can provoke a dog. It is very noisy and annoying when turning on and off. Again, I can't express enough how inconvenient the remote's size is. I would go for the other option which might be a bit more expensive but has a smaller remote control and a slightly better collar which is really shocking.
