I love, love, love Contigo water bottles. I bought my first 7 years ago when I was pregnant and constantly dying of thirst. After 5 years I decided I needed a new bottle with a cap that was...cleaner. I ordered this insulated one. It's good to always have cool water. And I want something I can grab and drink without unscrewing the cap and not worry about spilling. This one takes the extra step of having a sliding lid that covers the mouthpiece. This is very helpful - or reassuring - when the bottle is in a backpack pocket or your kids and dog are around. However, I accidentally put it in the dishwasher the second week I had it. I knew it couldn't be washed in the dishwasher - a simple mistake on my part. This will cause the paint/lacquer to peel off. I used it for another year before it got really bad and I bought another one. But I've gotten so used to the insulated version that it's now the only water bottle I use.
