Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Your Impact Driver's Versatility with DEWALT Drill Chuck, Quick Connect (DW0521) by Marco Habersham

I feel like I'm missing something

The idea behind this thing is fantastic. I wish I had had the opportunity to use my impact wrench enough times with a non-standard (for him) bit to buy this. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to properly screw in a cylindrical nozzle. The chuck should be keyless, but a key would be a lot less of a hassle. It's hard to describe how uncomfortable it is to use this. When you're trying to tighten a chuck, it's pretty easy to lightly tighten the bit, but once it's set I have a hell of a time tightening it. It doesn't matter if you have a bit that isn't cylindrical. My forstner bits and hex bits work fine. However, tightening a drill is not a task I can do with a drill chuck in a screwdriver. I have to take it out of the drive and put it in a vise and tighten it that way because you have to press down on the chuck to keep it from slipping off when tightening. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or not, but if it is, then it's a crappy design. I'll gladly admit I'm stupid, so maybe it is. I just can't understand this thing. It's not so bad that I'm sure it's broken, or willing to bother returning it for a new one just to check. It's bad enough that I won't check it out unless I have a choice - it's not what I've come to expect from DeWalt.
