Drills stuck, no teeth or chuck to loosen.

Dewalt make great tools but this isn't one of them. The adapter has no teeth so the drill chuck cannot be used to loosen drill bits and as impact tools are very powerful an adapter will end up getting stuck in the first bit used. Save money and buy a $12 adapter with teeth and chuck to loosen the chuck. Good idea, bad design.

No direct tightening method

The outer sleeve used to tighten the chuck is designed for some reason to separate from the internal mechanisms of the chuck. This makes it difficult to properly loosen and tighten this cartridge. After approx. 4 uses in the last 5-6 months, the adhesive on the quick-release thread failed and the quick-release part unscrewed from the chuck. Now this chuck can only be used for a drill of the same size stuck in it. I hope the drill doesn't jam when drilling because I can't rotate the drill to get

Use drills with a wrench.

I have a hammer drill and was hoping to use this product so I didn't have to use two separate drill bits to drill with non-hex base bits. If he had a chuck key (which for some reason has a hole that the chuck key seems to fit, but doesn't have an unnecessary random hole). I think it would help the cause. But like drills without a cartridge, they work halfway and then lose power. Completely destroys the target. I find that bits that can't be tightened with a chuck fall out all the time. If Iโ€ฆ

It's junk, don't waste your money

This thing has been sitting idly in a tool box for years. When I finally needed it, the 3 "tines" that are supposed to hold the drill bits in place just wouldn't move. They are stuck in the open position. The yoke for releasing the bit lock adjuster moved as intended (it wasn't tight) and I was able to freely turn the hex bolt a quarter inch either way, which should open and close the bit's 3 locking teeth, but they move simply not. When I bought this item many years ago it did NOT have all the

I hope I just caught a lemon!

I usually like DeWalt products but in this case they are terrible. First, the hex shaft is SCREWED into the block, which means that if you hold the black chuck ring and turn the drill bit backwards, it will sometimes open the chuck and sometimes screw the shaft out of the block. Then, after half a dozen bit changes, he refused to let go of the bit and now I have it as a permanent attachment to a 3/8" long bit. cartridge. Second, the hex bar is slightly smaller than all other hex bar bits andโ€ฆ

I feel like I'm missing something

The idea behind this thing is fantastic. I wish I had had the opportunity to use my impact wrench enough times with a non-standard (for him) bit to buy this. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to properly screw in a cylindrical nozzle. The chuck should be keyless, but a key would be a lot less of a hassle. It's hard to describe how uncomfortable it is to use this. When you're trying to tighten a chuck, it's pretty easy to lightly tighten the bit, but once it's set I have a hell of a timeโ€ฆ

INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE WITH BLOCKED BITS OR WITH NO WORK THREATS.

INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED DRILLS OR SAFE FOR ARRIDRILL. Common sense dictates that this is clearly not a solid or machined part, but rather multiple components put together to make a very handy keyless drill. a chuck ready to lock onto your percussion instrument. So the mandrel screws into the back of the chuck, meaning when using an impact wrench you can over-tighten the chuck's retaining ring (black ring) enough to be tighter than the mandrel threads that go into the back of the chuckโ€ฆ

Works but major problem

In short: three major problems to name: 1. Due to the torque threshold of the impact wrench, you cannot tighten the drill beyond this threshold. Unless you find a way to do it manually, which I don't. Maybe my fingers are too big to grip both parts of the cartridge? I believe you can use a hex wrench to secure the bit, but I'm a big fan of quick disconnects and quick bit changes, and I don't like carrying like 10 different wrenches for 10 different tools.2.
