Review on Top-Notch Hikole Scooters: Adjustable Height, Dual Suspension, Big Wheels & More - Ideal For Teens And Adults! by Lamont Wilson

Decent scooter, but creaky

(FYI if you need to FOLD it, push the steering column forward, which releases the folding mechanism, then you can press FORWARD the lever on the right side. That automatically lets it lower itself until it clicks into position and then you lock it with the left-sided latch.)I'm new to being an adult scooterer. I took a gamble on this scooter because I wanted a moderately attractive adult scooter that would be sturdy enough for someone with an adult weight LOL. I was very excited when this arrived, however, as soon as I began riding on it, I thought it felt a little odd--the deck seemed to creak a lot while riding even just cruising. But since I hadn't ridden a scooter in probably almost 20 years, I figured this is just how scooters are. I also figured maybe lighter riders wouldn't have this issue (although I am definitely well under the weight threshold for this scooter).I bought the Razor a5 Lux on a whim for my brother, and I tried it out; I immediately noticed how sturdy and smooth it felt--no creaking/rattling. The Razor is a whole 5 pounds LIGHTER than the Hikole. I really have no idea what could be the differentiating factor as to why the Hikole feels so strange and creaky. I wanted to like it! I paid more for the Hikole than the Razor, it looks nicer and it has tons of glowing reviews on Best Buy so I kept telling myself I'm just the weird one. But my family members have said the Razor feels better, and they can even hear how rattley the Hikole is.I can only imagine as many other reviewers seem like much more experienced scooter-riders than me, that I received some kind of faulty or used unit. Aside from the creaking while riding/using, there were also some small noticeable scratches and stains. I literally just received this product 2 days ago and the pictures were taken minutes after putting it together.I really, really wanted to like this scooter, as it looks a lot nicer than the Razor, but ultimately I find myself more envious of the cheaper and lighter Razor. Also, I saw many reviews mention the folding mechanism is cumbersome. I struggled with it at first, but once you figure it out it wasn't so bad.
