I bought these in November 2020 and thought I'd have them for a lot longer. I have a third as the other two broke after regular daily use. I used regular peppercorns but the grinder seems to break easily. I had one next to the stove that I used frequently, about 4-5 times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. The first one broke after 2-3 months. I started using the second one which was "decorative" on the dining table and seemed to last 4-6 months and it's October 2021 and I got to the last one always thinking I won't use it for what use - that time. This is a good grinder but feels flimsy when it breaks easily. I used the glass part as a small vase, at least I will have one!
