Yes - nut splitting is real! OEM ring nuts are difficult to remove and cannot be reinstalled once removed. Without wheels, a car is pretty much useless and may have to be thrown away. My brother-in-law works for Ford and I told him that if he gave me a new Ford Ranger I wouldn't be joining the class action lawsuit, but I haven't received a response from him. The dealer even recommended NOT to bother with them as their nuts are too expensive and could fail again. These nuts saved the Focus from certain death. If new nuts could only make this crazy PowerShift transmission better I would give them a 5 star rating!
