Review on Grill REDMOND SteakMaster RGM-M817D, black by Stanislaw Wysocki ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I have not regretted the purchase, everything is fine.

Despite a serious defect in the REDMOND RK-G192 electric kettle (see my review on this site), I decided to try my luck and bought this grill from the same manufacturer. Opening the cover of the device 180 degrees at first did not work, the top panel was not installed horizontally. Then he examined the structure more closely and saw that the upper panel in the middle is connected to the sides of the handle by an axis of rotation, i. E. can be rotated relative to the handle at a certain angle in both directions. but in its original position, the top panel is protected from rotation by a ball lock located on the left side of the grill, when viewed from the front side. In the latch, strictly speaking, not a ball, but a spring-loaded cylinder with a hemispherical end. Locking in and out of the lock should probably happen automatically with the rotation of the handle, but the lock is stiff and sometimes needs to be gently assisted by hand. The user manual does not say anything about the presence and purpose of this latch. And just it provides the ability to raise the top panel above the bottom one (this is also not mentioned in the manual) and the horizontal position of the top panel when it is opened (turned 180 degrees). After doing a food-free heating cycle, which is required by the instruction manual, I noticed a small chip in the non-stick coating in the corner of the bottom panel. I went to the store and they replaced this panel for me. But the presence of marriage is alarming. The seller confirmed that there have been a lot of complaints about REDMOND products lately.

Pros
  • The body is mostly metal. Separate temperature setting for the bottom and top panel. Possibility of turning the top panel by 180 degrees. The possibility of increasing the gap between the panels. Nice design.
Cons
  • The ball lock of the top panel works harshly. I got a defective top panel, a non-stick layer flew off on a spot measuring 3x4 mm.
