Excellent product for reinforcing a door without frame bending

Apartment remodeling including replacement of all interior doors/mouldings. After I removed the front door panel to match the new interior panel, I found that there was a huge gap around the door frame with no gaskets and a lot of 3" braces holding it in place. No wonder the door kept rattling/feeling loose. You can get in simply by sliding out the frame on either side. I immediately tried using 3 1/2" screws in the hinges/latches but that just bent the frame and pulled the door to one side. I attached the side of the latch by cutting a couple of staples and 5 /8" thick plywood as spacers under the panels, I attached the plywood to the door frame with wood glue to make it stronger and reinstalled the latch panels with 3-1/2" screws to hold everything in place Also glued/screwed some extra small plywood spacers on the side of the transom to line everything up.However, there were too many braces on the hinge side to do that without completely removing the frame. Also the gap was open even bigger this side. I chose ZZem screws/anchors and they worked great. I installed 12 of them to act as spacers and attach the door frame to the jamb. The f Works great Snap frames into place before installation Each group of 4 anchor loops (now includes a gasket). With the frame no longer being subjected to the force of the door (all the load is now on the 12 anchors buried in the studs) I don't expect any problems in the future. Also added 12 more anchors where the hinges attach to the door, so taking this thing off while moving forward is going to take some serious work. Anchors or steel instead of brass anchors I've tried to find longer #9 hinge screws but the threads don't exactly match. Since the impact creates shear rather than drag on the propeller, it probably doesn't matter much. Only in my case, when I also use the anchor as a spacer, the longer screw/dowel thread increases strength. Thanks for a great product. I've just ordered a few more to ensure the new solid core doors I've installed , don't get stuck in the future if I rent this place out. I attached them with 3" screws but I think these anchors last longer. I'm always amazed at what tenants can break.
