While you work like a champ!

I bought 12 of these to replace hardware that had almost all but 2 or 3 screws in the door hinges loose and not supporting the door. The door was not square, and as a result, the bottom of the jam stretched every time the door was closed. The idiot in front of me tried to poke a few holes in the jam with a tool that wasn't short enough and as a result it was a real headache to drill the holes with the correct placement and at the right angle (not this product's fault) . I ended up using wood…

They work surprisingly well but expensive

Our door was becoming increasingly difficult to latch and the door would not close either and on closer inspection I found that the problem was not with the door hardware, but that the door sags. Upon closer inspection I found that 3 of the 4 screws in 2 of the 3 hinges had broken off and the previous owner tried to put in a much longer screw to try to fix the problem. These things worked great 1) Removed all 4 screws at the top of the hinge 2) Drill 3" into the frame through the existing holes

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • No instructions

This concept was exactly what I had in mind. While toothpicks/dowels/glue might work (depending on the damage), be prepared to repair later if the door needs to be removed for painting etc. Those "sleeves" were really strong. READ the Quick Start Guide. Make sure you have a pilot hole. Yes, there is already a hole, but you keep drilling. If you make a small mistake, it will be noticeable when the plate is returned to its place. It may make sense (depending on your damage) to gradually increase…

Makes my sloppily installed Solid Core door swing like a feather!

We have a new house with some upgraded solid core doors and the one leading to the garage was so saggy it groaned and creaked every time it was opened (which happens daily). The hinge bolts were very loose and it was only a matter of time before he dragged the frame with him. I debated spending money on this kit for about 2 days, but based on the positive reviews and the fact that it's made in America, I felt I could justify the cost. Let me tell you these are the best $60 I've ever spent on…

Works great, but in my opinion the product has a small design flaw.

At this price I was surprised to find that the small screws have wood screw like threads and even knurled threads to 'bite' into the wood. Design flaws because: - the wood thread is wider with a large pitch so as not to tear the wood and have a better connection. In this case, when entering the metal fastener, the thread can be much stronger, and the seller can remove it " do not overtighten " commented, the risk of thread breakage would be much less - notch (small notch at the end of the…

Excellent product for reinforcing a door without frame bending

Apartment remodeling including replacement of all interior doors/mouldings. After I removed the front door panel to match the new interior panel, I found that there was a huge gap around the door frame with no gaskets and a lot of 3" braces holding it in place. No wonder the door kept rattling/feeling loose. You can get in simply by sliding out the frame on either side. I immediately tried using 3 1/2" screws in the hinges/latches but that just bent the frame and pulled the door to one side. I…
